“You’re going to see what a Molotov cocktail can do to Macy’s”

After being driven from Zuccotti Park the Occupy Wall Street demonstrators are planning for what they call “a national day of direct action”. This day of action is set to take place tomorrow(Thursday).

The demonstrators have released a statement through their website saying they are planning three serious actions Thursday beginning with a “shut down” of Wall Street.

The day will begin with a protest in Liberty Square at 7 a.m. to “put an end to Wall Street’s reign of terror.”

After the morning protest the demonstrators will push out into the subway system of the city’s five boroughs. The protestors are calling this action “Occupy the Subway”.

They will gather at numerous subways stations around the city to take their message to the trains…

  1. Do NOT start violence unless you are prepared to go all the way. And I mean all the say as in civil war, as in "victory or death" all the way. Yes, the police are resorting to violence, but even so are restrained by world opinion that the Occupy movement are the current version of the revolts of Iceland and Egypt. Yes, violence is coming. But once you cross that line the gloves will be off on both sides, so do not cross that line until there is absolutely no other choice possible.

  2. “When it gets down to having to use violence, then you are playing the system’s game. The establishment will irritate you: pull your beard, flick your face to make you fight. Because once they’e got you violent, then they know how to handle you. The only thing they don’t know how to handle is non-violence and humor. - John Lennon.

  3. I'm not saying there is never a time for violence. If protesters are disappeared from their homes at night for their speech, then perhaps it will have come.

But we are far from such a time, calling for violence now is jumping the shark and likely the action of a government informant-provocatuer.

  4. Protesting in public places is great but don't play into the hands of the cops or those controlling them. Public opinion is still being formed. Let the public see what non-violent pro-action looks like. There are supporters out there that don't want to be arrested or pepper sprayed but want to be involved. Me included.

  6. Mike Rivero Don't you think it's likely that these alleged protesters threatening the use of violence are COINTELPRO?

  7. Be firm. Be clear about your message. Do not allow the infiltrators to lead you into a trap we all know how they work. When you catch one make their presence known to everyone. Do not give up we are in the early stages of this revolt and it is up to the powers that wish to remain to discredit themselves further and they will. We will prevail there is no way to stop us.

  8. You stating that anyone who accepts violence is "COINTELPRO" is plain, simple cowardice.

People are pissed. A lot of people. And in any group of a lot of pissed off people, you are going to have some that want to wave placards, and some that want to throw rocks. When anger boils over, it's natural that it boils messy. Some people are just not satisfied with being beaten at will by the police. Some people are going to fight back.

Those people have what used to be called in this country, a spine. Way back when people actually fought for their rights, rather than upload YouTube videos of the rights being taken away.

If it were to happen today, would our Founding Fathers have watched as the Crown's soldiers beat and killed them? Or would they have put down the camera phone, picked up a rifle, and acted like an American?

But of course, had they done that, I'm sure ten dozen Occupy Wall Street pacifists would have surrounded, disarmed, and turned him over to the police faster than you can say, "Don't taze me bro".

I applaud the black bloc. I applaud the people who are willing to do more than just submit to whatever the government wills. I don't think attacking a Macy's is the best strategy. But at least these people are fighting back. Better that than the Internet cowards who see agents provocateur under every bed.

  9. The first thing you can do to free yourself is to stop letting the 1% do your thinking for you by defining the terms of your thoughts.

"Violence" is the illegitimate use of force to harm an innocent person.
Using force to PROTECT yourself or another innocent person from harm is not "violence."
A rapist who uses force, and a woman who uses force to defend herself from rape, are NOT morally equivalent. (If you think they are, you're just plain nuts.)

Self-defense is not "violence" even if it involves the use of lethal force -- which you may generally use to protect yourself (or an innocent third person) from an imminent threat of grave bodily injury or death when there is no reasonable alternative. (Varies state-to-state)

However, to to initiate an assault on innocent persons to to damage the property of innocent persons is an illegitimate use of force. THAT is something the Good Guys NEVER do.

So keep the high moral ground.
    Don't become what you despise.
